Introduced in 1991, the Submat Flexiform is one of our most popular products. It is a low cost flexible mattress which has been successfully utilised in numerous projects requiring protection of marine pipework. It provides a highly resistant and effective protection and stabilisation system.

The Submat Flexiform has established an impressive track record with various projects successfully completed on time, on budget and safely.

Submat Flexiform consists of high strength concrete segments linked together with a network of high strength polypropylene ropes to form a continuous flexible concrete barrier. By virtue of individually profiled concrete segments, it is able to provide a high degree of flexibility in two planes;

• Straightforward pipeline cover
• Cover on Pipeline bends and intersections
• Cover for trenched and un-trenched pipelines
• Cover for counter-action to seabed scouring or where there are pronounced undulations in the seabed profile

Submat Flexiform can be installed with a simple quick release installation frame which can be provided as an integral part of the order. It is designed to provide a high quality, low cost solution for protection and stabilisation of subsea pipelines and structures. Submat Flexiform conforms to the requirements of BS8110, 'The Structural Use of Concrete'.

The Submat Pipeform is a flexible concrete mattress designed to work as a stabilisation and protection system for all marine pipework, cable and umbilicals. It was developed as an alternative to the multi-flexible concrete mattress, where flexibility is specified by the client.

Particularly suited for the stabilisation and cover of pipelines, the Submat Pipeform consists of high strength reinforced concrete logs linked together with appropriate strength polypropylene ropes. This ideal combination offers a protective concrete blanket with a high degree of flexibility parallel to the protected pipeline.

The Submat Pipeform can be installed with a quick release installation frame which can be provided as an integral part of an order. The Submat Pipeform can be manufactured in various sizes and thicknesses; it conforms to the requirements of BS 8110, 'The Structural Use of Concrete'.

The Frond Flexiform mattress is a combined buoyant frond scour mat and flexible concrete mattress. Available in several standard variants, they all have the same continuous and significantly overlapping parallel lines of buoyant fibrillated polypropylene fronds attached to and aligned with, the lines of the concrete blocks.

The Frond Flexiform mattress combines all the features of a flexible concrete mattress and a buoyant frond scour control mat. This offers the following benefits;

• Installation is simple and swift
• It provides both instant protection and immediate hold down
• The creation of long term fibre reinforced, consolidated and vibration compacted sediment bank build up over the mattress, substantially adds to the degree of protection afforded. It also provides an exceptional reduction in scour potential close to structures.

The blocks do not contain any steel members which helps to prevent the metal corrosion problems commonly experienced in the offshore oil and gas industry from the use of slag in rock dumps. The frond line attachment points are moulded into the concrete base blocks.

The Submat Flexiform Revetment Mattress is a flexible concrete mattress used for protection against river and sea embankment erosion. Its flexible construction ensures the flexiform revetment mattress can be laid to cope with variations in the embankment profile maintaining maximum protection against erosion.

Following installation, the spaces between the concrete blocks may be filled with a seed mixture to promote growth.
